All of my pieces are handmade one-of-a-kind. Many of the tins I use are antique and show signs of wear and tear. I think it adds to the rustic beauty of the piece, which has had a history. The tin flowers are approximately 1" in diameter. They are hung on 20 gauge sterling silver ear wires and hang down approximately 1.5".
This particular pair of flowers is made from the 1950s (or before) Velvet brand tobacco tin. Velvet Tobacco changed the color of their tin from this burgundy/full-bodied cabernet color to a candy apple red color. I have not been able to find the exact year that happened but I will keep researching!
All of my earrings come wrapped in a little box. If you are buying them as a gift for someone I can ship to them and add a gift card. If you are interested in finding out about new pieces, shows, or studio musings sign up for my email list.
Tins and collecting them bring back good memories. I love using the printed tin in my work, giving it a new life in a one-of-a-kind jewelry piece that you will love and enjoy wearing for many years to come.
