All of my pieces are handmade and one-of-a-kind. They are rustically elegant. Many of the tins are antique and show signs of wear and tear. I think it just adds to the beauty of the piece, which has had a history. The tin flower is approximately 1" in diameter and is hung on a 20 inch, 1.8mm sterling silver bead chain. On the back is stamped the word "BLOOM". I have always loved the quote "Bloom where you are planted" by Mary Engelbreit. I hope you love it too!
This particular flower is made from a tin box I found while I was living in New York. It was 20 years ago. I was going to cooking school and working in a restaurant. On the weekends I loved to wander the Chelsea Flea. I found this tin on one of my wanderings. It was only $3, I didn’t need it, but it was so pretty, gorgeous green color with pink flowers and gold, a beautiful sailing ship and it was an Italian cookie tin (I love cookies AND flowers AND Italy!). I had to buy it. I paid, picked it up, and realized it had something in it. I opened it up and it was full of sewing notions, nice ones! Many of them I still use today. That day I got an extra treat for listening to my heart and buying something I didn't think I needed.
Tins and collecting them bring back happy memories. I love using tin boxes in my work, giving them a new life in a one-of-a-kind jewelry piece that hopefully you will love and enjoy wearing for many years to come.
All of my pendants come wrapped in a little box. If you are buying them as a gift for someone I can ship to them and add a gift card. Thank you for looking! I am also happy to take requests for different color combinations so feel free to contact me.
