This necklace is a collage of some of the things that I love most. Dendritic Limestone, Antique Paper, Mica and Sterling Silver. The pattern on the stone is formed by naturally occurring fissure that over time filled with mineral solutions and stained the rock. I love the root-like pattern and the rough yet soft surface. The leaf texture on the back is made by roller printing an actual leaf. The image in the little window on the back is from an Illustrated London News from the 1850s. I love the detail of the image and that the paper is handmade. The image is covered in mica and the handmade chain is oxidized sterling silver.
Oxidized sterling silver, dendritic limestone, 1850's Illustrated London News paper, and mica. The handmade chain in 30 inches long.
