All of my pieces are handmade and one-of-a-kind. They are rustically elegant. Many of the tins I use are antique and show signs of wear and tear. I think it just. adds to the beauty of the piece, which has had a history. These earrings are made of steel wire with a patina and the flower is made of tin (printed steel). The wires are approximately 2.5 inches long. The flower is 0.5 inches across. The leaver back earwires are sterling silver. The earrings are very light and easy to wear.

This particular flower pendant is made from a tin box I found while I was thrifting around Gatlinburg, TN after taking a class at Arrowmont School of Crafts. I found it at the cutest antique store a little bit out of town called Vintage and Variety. It was a true treasure chest. I looked like a museum. The tin I found was a Barton’s Almond Kisses tin. I had collected the first one of these tins many years ago in an Antique Mall in Albuquerque but it was so beautiful that I could not take it apart. I used it to store things. I was drawn to the colors in the tin, the Jetsons-like retro font and the absolutely wonderful designs on it. So many things about the design drew me in...cute cars, a man riding a bike, sidewalk cafe, dogs, couture ladies, a chef, AND it says “The Best Kiss You’ll Ever Have”! Not to mention the colors (pink, yellow, green with a black background). They are splendid! It was not until I found the second one of this same tin that I could actually use it. I love the color green of these little flower gems and I love that they have some of the vintage font.

The earrings come wrapped in sweet little box. If you are buying them as a gift for someone I can ship to them and add a gift card. Thank you for looking! And I am happy to take requests for different color combinations and/or lenghts so feel free to contact me.

Tins are such a sweet memory of my travels and my childhood. I love using them in my work, giving them a new life in a one-of-a-kind jewelry piece that you will love and wear for many years to come.
