Mabe Pearl pendant set in Sterling Silver. It hangs on an 18 inch long Sterling Silver chain. The pendant measures 7/16 inches in diameter.
A mabe pearl is a cultured "half pearl" also called a blister pearl. It grows up against the inside of a mollusk shell rather than inside the body.
This necklace is part of the Collection of Calm. A collection inspired by my growing up on the white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. The Mother of Pearl represents the white sand beaches there and the memories of the many hours I spent collecting shells. On the back of the pendant is a "sand" texture.
My hope is that wearing this pendant will remind you of all things beachy - shells, sand, breeze, waves, walks, and most of all calm.
