These two Mother of Pearl Trading Coin pieces are set in Sterling Silver. They hang on Sterling Silver earwires. They measure 1.5 inches and hang down 2 and 3/16th of an inch.
These particular pieces are lovely with the star-like flower in the center and surrounded with a vine-like circle around the edge. The pieces are antique gaming counters, poker chips, or trading coins. They were produced between 1700 and 1840. Mother of Pearl is a shell. It comes from the inside of mollusk shells.
These Earrings are part of my Collection of CALM. A collection inspired by my growing up on the white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. The Mother of Pearl represents the white sand beaches there and the memories of the many hours I spent collecting shells. On the back of the pendant is a linen texture. The coolest and best fabric to wear at the beach.
It is my wish that when worn, these earrings will remind you of all things beachy - shells, sand, breeze, waves, walks, and most of all CALM.
