These two Mother of Pearl Trading Coin pieces are set in Sterling Silver with a sand texture on the back. They hang on 18 Karat Gold earwires. They measure one inch and hang down 1 and 3/16th of an inch.
These particular pieces are simple and contemporary with three concentric circles at the edge. They are antique gaming counters, poker chips, or trading coins. They were produced between 1700 and 1840. Mother of Pearl is a shell. It comes from the inside of mollusk shells.
These Earrings are part of my Collection of CALM. A collection inspired by my growing up on the white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. The Mother of Pearl represents the white sand beaches there and the memories of the many hours I spent collecting shells. On the back of the pendant is a "sand" texture, further representing the beach!
It is my wish that when worn, these earrings will remind you of all things beachy - shells, sand, breeze, waves, walks, and most of all CALM.
